gift giving guide for guys

Ok, so design sponge posted a piece on gifts for guys, and it seems oh so appropriate for me in all my frustration about gifts and what to get at the moment. The problem being, the boy is a lawyer and makes good money and when he wants something he buys it! And I'm a poor research scientist, one that is unemployed at the moment thanks to good ol' California and the budget crisis. So I can't buy everything, ya know? But this is a good guide. I think it's perfectly honest, particularly the gaming portion, which couldn't describe my geek boyfriend better. There have been many times I would have loved to throw that stupid Xbox out the window. The headphones seem like a genius idea...seeing as sometimes I feel like I live in Baghdad, why I even woke up to the sound of machine guns just this morning.

  1. The D*S gift guide is so right-on, especially those headphones. I can't stand hearing "THE UAV IS ONLINE" and AK's shooting and 12 year old gamers giggling over the speakers for one more day. What AC didn't say on there though was there are inexpensive options! If you go to the headphone website, there are some for 20 something bucks!

AC also convinced me to buy the game my guy wants, the only thing he asked for, and the thing I vowed not to buy. He'll get it either way & I get the award for best girlfriend if I give it to him!

  2. Haha - this is my boyfriend too. Thankfully, when he moved to Seattle with me, he left all his game stuff in LA!
