Give me the cake or I WILL KILL YOU
I gave up dessert for Lent and I AM DYING a slow death and it's only day 2. What the F was I thinking?!!!
I'm not even Catholic for Gods sakes! I'm sorry Jesus but I might not make it the whole way, I'm not much to admire when it comes to eating and self control. This is bananas.

You're not even Catholic? What are you doing my dear? Eat some cake!! :) xo
ReplyDeleteThe boys parents suggested it! They were like, "Oh its fat tuesday, we should give something up for lent." My response, "I've never given up anything for lent, I'm not Catholic thank goodness."
ReplyDelete"Oh we give stuff up and we're protestant."
Me thinking maybe it would be a good way to cut down on calories and lose some weight the boy agreed, but I'm more like losing my mind and wanting to punch the boy in the mouth.
coming form a catholic girl, even jesus had a day off. SUNDAY IS MERE HOURS AWAY!
ReplyDeleteThis post so makes me wish I wasn't allergic to chocolate.
ReplyDeleteIn about three days the cravings will subside, a lot!! If you can find a food or foods to replace the sweets it will give you something to look forward to in lieu of the desserts...I really like trail mix and fresh apple slices when my sweet tooth tries to take over...and sugar free hot chocolate has been a life~saver when all else fails.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Warmly,
Tracey
P.S. Regarding lent, I don't believe it is an exclusively Catholic exercise, I read somewhere that it was a way of fasting that originated from the old testament and was adopted by the early Christians as a way of remembering and honoring the sacrifice made on the cross...the side effects being it stimulated self~control!! :)
